About Muonionalusta Meteorite

The Muonionalusta meteorite is believed to have fallen over 100,000 years ago in the Arctic Circle. Glaciers carried fragments of the fall to northern Sweden, where they were first recorded in 1906.

Due to geological conditions and Sweden's legislative restrictions on metal detectors, these meteorite fragments are extremely difficult to recover. The pieces are few and far between, almost always buried deep underground, and must be located using specialized metal detection equipment.

Each piece carries a story that spans millennia, making this pendant a truly unique treasure from the cosmos.

This Rose Quartz has a star shaped pattern under direct light in certain spots in the stone. It is known as Asterism - Rose Quartz has a different star pattern than other gemstones. Petrified wood is made up of almost solid quartz. The colors are produced by impurities in the quartz, such as iron, carbon, and manganese. Over 200 million years ago, the logs washed into an ancient river system and were rapidly buried deep enough by sediment and debris also carried in the water. Oxygen was cut off and decay slowed to a process that would now take centuries. Minerals, including silica dissolved from volcanic ash, absorbed into the porous wood over thousands of years crystallized within the cellular structure, replacing organic matter over time.
