About the Gemstones
Chrysocolla is prized for its tranquil blue-green hues reminiscent of tropical waters. Peruvian opal, found only in the Andes Mountains, displays a soft, milky blue color. Combined with lustrous pearls, these stones create a harmonious palette inspired by the sea.

When I began creating this necklace, I let instinct guide me. First came turquoise pebble beads that speak volumes of the beauty from our earth. Then jasper in earthy warm yellow ochre, with delicate patterns that look as if written with an ancient artist's pen.

The other stones seemed to call out to join this creation:

• White and cream mother of pearl
• Tiny faceted chrysocolla beads
• Rich red carnelian for warmth

Together, they capture the beauty of our amazing Black Hills sunsets—and so the name was born: Sunset Necklace.
