Derived from the ancient Greek words for "gold" and "glue," chrysocolla was given its name by Theophrastus in 315 BCE. It is commonly found in rounded masses, veins, and crusts, and contains small amounts of copper, iron, and manganese oxide.
Chrysocolla, with its light blue hue, is often mistaken for turquoise and is frequently discovered in conjunction with Malachite and Azurite. It occurs naturally in shades of green, bluish green, blue, blackish blue, or brown. According to traditional beliefs, this stone has the ability to relieve fear, guilt, and nervous tension, making it a valuable addition to any collection.
