Kunzite, discovered in 1902 in California and named after gemologist George Frederick Kunz, is a relatively young gemstone prized for its delicate pink to lilac hues. A variety of the mineral spodumene, kunzite's soft color comes from trace amounts of manganese. The stone is known for its pleochroism—displaying different shades of pink when viewed from different angles. Dragonflies have symbolized transformation, adaptability, and self-realization across cultures for centuries, making this pairing particularly meaningful.
