Garnet has been found as early as 5,000 BC in burial sites. Early explorers carried garnets as a talisman and protective stone and Crusaders wore Garnet to keep them safe.

Designed in our studio and crafted as a single original, the Amethyst & Garnet Garden Necklace brings together a curated collection of materials that reward a close look. Deep purple Amethyst fancies anchor the palette, joined by bright red Garnet that sparks against the violet like embers in a garden. A custom glass flower adds a painterly focal point, while our own hand-enameled bead caps — made exclusively in our studio — give the piece a signature detail you won’t find anywhere else. Pearls, gold vermeil beads, and a gold-filled clasp and extension chain complete the composition with warmth and refinement.

The adjustable extension chain lets you wear it at 16" or extend to 18" — versatile enough for a neckline or layered with other pieces.

About Garnet

Garnet has been prized for over 5,000 years — worn by Egyptian pharaohs, traded along ancient Silk Road routes, and set into the jewelry of Roman nobility. Its name derives from the Latin granatum, meaning pomegranate seed, a nod to the stone's deep red color and rounded form.

In the Middle Ages, garnet was believed to protect travelers and warriors, and was carried as a talisman against harm. Today it remains one of the most beloved gemstones in the world — valued for its rich color range (from deep burgundy to vivid orange and green), its durability, and its long symbolic association with love, vitality, and commitment.

Garnet is the birthstone for January — making these earrings a meaningful gift for anyone born in the new year.

A richly layered necklace filled with caramel freshwater pearls, deep red garnets, pale grey-violet iolite (water sapphire), pyrite, and cocoa Swarovski crystals — all strung together and finished with a heart-shaped sterling silver clasp and chain. Adjustable from 24" to 27", it sits beautifully at any length.

Garnets have been carried as talismans since antiquity. Ancient warriors wore them into battle believing the stone would keep them safe and guide them home. Medieval travelers tucked garnets into their pockets as protection against the unknown. The name itself comes from the Latin granatum — pomegranate — for the way the deep red crystals resemble the fruit’s seeds.

Iolite — known historically as the “Viking compass stone” — was used by Norse navigators to locate the sun on overcast days. Held up to the sky, its natural pleochroism (the ability to show different colors from different angles) helped filter light and reveal the sun’s position. It was, in a very real sense, a navigation instrument worn as a gem.

The caramel pearls here carry the same quiet rarity as those in the bracelet, earrings, and pendant — their warm tone, formed slowly inside a freshwater mussel over years.

Handcrafted in the USA with genuine freshwater pearls, natural garnets, and oxidized sterling silver. The ornate bead caps and post backs are carefully selected to complement the soft pink pearls. Measures approximately 1½" in length.
