White Pine Petrified Wood Round Slice | Oregon
Regular price €206,95Oregon’s high desert has yielded some of North America’s finest petrified wood, formed during the Miocene epoch when volcanic activity buried ancient forests beneath layers of ash and sediment. As silica-rich groundwater permeated the wood over millions of years, it replaced each cell with quartz — preserving the tree’s structure in extraordinary detail while transforming it into stone harder than steel.
This round slice of White Pine captures that process at its most legible. The full bark edge is intact, framing a cross-section that reveals the tree’s growth rings in warm tones of deep chocolate to lighter brown. Each ring is a year of the tree’s life, now permanently recorded in stone. The mirror-polished face brings out the full depth of color and cellular detail.
