This opal variety is termed dendritic opal due to its internal collection of dendrites. Dendrites are fern-like inclusions of iron, manganese, or other metallic oxides that create plant like patterns within the gem. Typically these opals are white, yellow, blue, green or pink and show the black inclusions well.

About Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a copper-bearing gemstone prized for its vivid blue-green colorations. The name comes from the Greek chrysos (gold) and kolla (glue), named for its historical use as a gold soldering agent by Theophrastus in 315 BCE.

This beautiful stone naturally occurs in shades of green, bluish-green, blue, blackish-blue, or brown. It's often found alongside other copper-bearing gems like azurite, turquoise, and malachite, and is sometimes confused with turquoise due to its striking blue color.
